Md. Joins Craigslist To Stop Prostitution Ads

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― You might blush just by reading some of the posts on Craigslist's adult section.

Things like 'naked housemaid' or 'sex acts for new film' are among those posts. Last year, a pregnant Anne Arundel County woman and her husband were caught offering sex with her for money.

Now the site is going to start weeding out the illegal offers.

As part of an agreement with 40 states, including Maryland, Craigslist will require any adult services to include a working phone number and pay a fee with a valid credit card.

More than 30 million ads are posted each month on the site. Thousands of connections are made for furniture, roommates, housing andĀ even book clubs.

Craigslist says the new regulations will not interfere with these legitimate posts. It will only force posters to be accountable.
