4 Indicted In St. Mary's Triple Kidnapping, Heist
CALIFORNIA, Md. (AP) ―
Three men and a woman accused of robbing a PNC bank and kidnapping the bank manager and her two young children have been indicted.
Joseph Brown of Great Mills, Quinita Ennis and Edwin Jones of Lexington Park and William Johnson of Port Republic were indicted Monday on conspiracy and bank robbery charges.
Prosecutors say Brown and Johnson pulled out a gun at the woman's Lusby home Sept. 24 and kidnapped her, her 5-year-old daughter and toddler son. Police said the four forced the woman to take $169,000 from the bank while holding her son hostage in the car.
Authorities found about $110,000, much of it buried in Brown's backyard. They say the rest was gambled in Atlantic City or spent on plane tickets, high-tech gifts and clothes.
