Officials: Man's Eviction Turns Up Fake Money Mill
DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) ―
A former District Heights man has been charged with counterfeiting after authorities found a money-printing operation in the apartment he was evicted from.
Authorities say Shango Taylor had almost two months' notice of his eviction last fall, but failed to clean up the operation before sherriff's deputies arrived.
Instead, they say, Taylor told the deputies he was going to rent a truck to move his furniture and never returned.
Federal officials say Taylor left behind several uncut sheets of counterfeit cash, tools used for making phony bills and a hard drive with images of different denominations.
Taylor was arrested May 28.
