Man Convicted Of Dragging Woman Down Stairs

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) ― A jury in Frederick has convicted a man of all charges in the robbery of an 87-year-old woman who was dragged down a flight of stairs during a home invasion.

Anthony McCoy, 43, was convicted of first- and second-degree assault, first-degree burglary and robbery.

Laura Chapman testified on Tuesday that her face hit every step as her assailant dragged her down the hardwood stairs head first and then left her for dead.

She suffered a broken wrist, a mild concussion and injuries to her back and mouth.
