House Votes For Bill For Constellation Settlement

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ―

The House of Delegates has voted for legislation needed to complete a settlement between the state of Maryland and Constellation Energy.

The House bill, which was approved 98-41, has taken on special significance, because the Senate voted for a version of the measure with an amendment that cause the deal to be nullified.

The agreement, which requires legislative approval, is valued at $2 billion and would end lawsuits filed by the state and Constellation over a long-running dispute over energy costs.
