Police Search For Man In College Park Assaults

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) ― Authorities are alerting residents near the University of Maryland about a man who has been jumping into students' beds and groping them before fleeing.

They plan to visit off-campus homes and businesses and distribute fliers in College Park Wednesday.

Prince George's County police spokesman Henry Tippett says the suspect kissed and fondled two sleeping students Sunday on Hopkins Avenue and is wanted for a dozen assaults and "peeping Tom" incidents near campus in the past 18 months.

Police say they do not have a good description of the suspect.
