Coins & Jewelry Stolen After Home Looted
CENTREVILLE, Md. (AP) ―
The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of at least $18,000 in coins and jewelry from a home in Centreville.
Authorities say a woman reported that the property was taken during a break-in at her home on Melfield Lane while she was out of town between Nov. 20 and 24. A home office had been ransacked and jewelry was missing from a bedroom of another resident who was also out of town.
The missing items include a several Morgan silver dollars, several loose diamonds, a platinum cuff bracelet with rubies, a gold diamond and sapphire ring, gold bracelets, gold chains, and earrings with diamonds and sapphires.
