The defense for Mayor Sheila Dixon is getting some newfound support from the city's law department.
Gigi Barnett has more on a new report that backs up her lawyer's argument.
The city law department says Dixon didn't know she may have violated ethics laws because she didn't have access to an important database as City Council president.
That database houses a list of all companies and contractors who do business with the city.
WJZ's media partner, the Baltimore Sun, reports Doracon was on that list.
Doracon is the company headed by developer Ronald Lipscomb. Dixon is accused of not reporting gifts from Lipscomb who was getting tax breaks from the city.
Dixon was charged last Friday on 12 counts of corruption, theft and perjury.
