These are exciting times for some students in Pylesville, Harford County.
Members of the North Harford High School choir will be performing in China later this month.
Ron Matz reports on a group of talented young men and women who are getting ready for the trip of a lifetime.
A performance by the North Harford High School choir at Carnegie Hall led to an invitation to perform in China.
For some of the talented students, this trip is a first.
"I'm so excited. I don't know what to expect. It's a once in a lifetime experience," said junior Amy Young.
It's the choir's seventh international trip.
"I am so proud. This is why I'm still teaching after 36 years. I love to come to work every day," said Martha Banghart, choral director at North Harford High School.
A day before they leave for China, the choir has one more performance, a farewell concert at the school's auditorium. Then it's off to make music in harmony with the Olympic spirit.
Thirty-eight choir members leave May 24 for the 12-day trip. Several North Harford seniors will miss their graduation, but a five-minute graduation ceremony has been arranged at China's Great Wall.
