Chesapeake Fund Up For Debate
A new fund to pump money into Chesapeake Bay cleanup efforts could take another step forward Saturday.
The Maryland House is scheduled to take up a new trust fund of about $50 million a year. That's smaller than a so-called "Green Fund" that was rejected by Maryland senators.
The new fund would be used for agriculture and local parks, among other things. The details of the fund would work would still need to be approved by the Senate. Governor Martin O'Malley has said he supports the idea.
