Balt. Police Arrest Suspect In Rape, Sex Assault

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Baltimore City Police make an arrest in a high-profile rape case.

Adam May reports officers took the man into custody Saturday morning, and now investigators say he could be linked to other open cases.

Marlow Humbert is accused in two separate incidents of following women into their homes on Saint Paul Street and trying to assault one and actually attacking the other.  He was being held without bail Monday.

Court documents reveal Humbert had a mask and gloves and demanded money before the rape of one of the women.

He then forced the victim into her basement then threatened to kill her if she called police.

This triggered police to warn residents last month.

The crimes put women around Johns Hopkins and the surrounding retail district on alert.

"I carry pepper spray...I keep it in my bag with me. I'm prepared," said one woman.

Police had released a sketch of the suspect using information from the victims.

Humbert's new mugshot has been made public in case other victims of unsolved rapes recognize the face.

The attacks occurred on March 5 and April 30.
