Catonsville Welcome Sign Goes Missing
CATONSVILLE, Md. (AP) ―
Something is missing in Catonsville.
A quaint wooden welcome sign that has hung at the town entrance for about 15 years on Frederick Road has disappeared from its place on a stone wall.
Residents are offering a $300 reward for its return.
An image on the sign features a Colonial house and horse-drawn trolley over the word "Catonsville."
Now, in its place hangs a poster that says "We want our sign back," in big red letters.
Jim Himel of the Catonsville Heritage Foundation says he expects the sign is hanging in a nearby college dorm room. Still, he says he hopes it's returned.
