Victims Identified In Drive-By Shooting & Crash

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Shots rang out in broad daylight on a Northwest Baltimore street Friday. Cars crashed and two men were killed.

Kelly McPherson reports not only are two men dead, but an innocent 75-year-old woman was caught up in the drive-by shooting.

Police are not releasing her name because she survived what had to have been an awful morning.

The two men who were inside of the SUV involved are dead from gunshot wounds.  They have been identified as Quinton Hogan, 23, and Donell Rogers, 21.

The 75-year-old woman had to be taken to the hospital when the driver of the black SUV that had been shot, slammed his truck into her nearby car and forced both into a pole.

"From what we know, the Cherokee was at a red light 50 yards back up the road. It stopped when a white, small vehicle pulled up along side of it and opened fire multiple times," said Donny Moses with Baltimore City Police.

Neighbors are concerned the murder is so close.

"After living here 30 years, it's a little shocking because I'm a part of a group that's killing each other, so that's letting me know I've lost touch with the people I've grown up with," said one resident.

The Rogers Ave. Metro Station is just down the block from where the drive-by shooting happened. And the people who use this station frequently were shocked to hear the news.

"It's getting crazy. Just everywhere it's getting crazy. And that's ridiculous right down the street from where I'm always at," said Tania Johnson.

"It's stupid. It needs to stop, and it's too much of it nowadays. People have no respect for life nowadays. You can't even walk around or drive for fear you might not make it back home," said Gerald Henson.

The neighborhood, like any other, worries killing seeping onto its streets could be here to stay if the shooter or shooters are not found.

Homicide detectives say witnesses believe the suspect's car might be a Pontiac.

"The white vehicle, the suspect vehicle, was last seen traveling westbound on Rogers Avenue. We are hoping anyone who witnessed will give us a call," said Moses.

Police are asking anyone with information on the double murder and drive-by shooting to call them at 410-396-2100.
