Presidential candidates are turning their attentions to Maryland as the state's primary draws near.
The presidential candidates are turning some of their attention to Maryland.
Pat Warren reports big names are in town as the count down to the state's primary continues.
Outside the State House in Annapolis, it was Hillary Clinton.
"Clinton is prepared. Clinton is prepared," said Governor Martin O'Malley.
On another stage, it's Barack Obama.
Maryland Democratic support is divided between Clinton and Obama.
"This fall we owe the American people a real choice," said Obama.
Obama is the choice of Congressman Elijah Cummings, the attorney general, the comptroller, Baltimore's mayor and the city state's attorney.
The Obama campaign has been running ads in Maryland for days.
Clinton is now joining the tv craze showing just how important Maryland is in this race.
"How many times in the past, ladies and gentlemen, when the campaign presidential campaigns would come through, we'd say boy, it'd be nice if Maryland could make a difference. Well guess what, this year Maryland's going to make a difference," said O'Malley.
"We have two very worthy competitors; we don't see them as adversaries," said Barbara Mikulski.
But somebody has to win, and at Towson University, young voters raised their banners for Obama.
"I mean I've never done anything like this for any campaign," said actor Kal Penn.
"I think we need someone in office who is a breath of fresh air, someone who has a long track record of being able to pull people together in order to move this nation forward," said Towson junior Cliff Blount.
Clinton and Obama both have campaign appearances in Maryland on Monday,
Maryland's primary is Tuesday.
