There are many ways you can say "thank you" to our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. For one Anne Arundel County woman, it came down to a camera and a hand-made sign.
Ron Matz has more on the story behind the "Thank You Calendar."
Jackie Geyer used a small camera to take pictures of every day Marylanders holding her thank you sign. Soon the "Thank You Calendar" was born.
"We've sold about 500 calendars so far. It's just amazing. I never knew this area was so supportive until this event," said Geyer.
The calendars sell for $10.
At the Big Bean in Severna Park, proceeds benefit our wounded veterans.
"It was really a wonderful way for us to contribute in some very small way, but we're thrilled to be a part of it. We've sold tons of calendars here," said Deb Hoffman from the Big Bean.
"The most important thing I realized is that how one small gesture--taking a picture and mailing it off--can impact a lot of people," said Geyer.
Geyer's project may have started in Severna Park, but it has gone around the world.
