New Plan May Make Airport Security Lines Easier
BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―
These days, flying can be filled with stress. The government has a new plan to make part of your journey more pleasant.
Mike Schuh reports it will debut at BWI.
Once your bags are checked, perhaps the most stressful part of the journey is the security checkpoint.
"Waiting in long lines and your flight being delayed," said Tierra Boyd.
BWI screeners are being trained now. They have new blue uniforms, there is soft mood lighting and the bins automatically return to the head of the line. New high-tech machines screen passengers. It's all being done to calm, not only the passengers, but the screeners.
"Anything that will benefit the customer is a win for the airport," said Jonathon Dean with BWI Thurgood-Marshall Airport.
Expect changes at BWI's B pier near Southwest in late spring or early summer.
