Abingdon Brawl Leaves 4 Injured

ABINGDON, Md. (WJZ) ―

Harford County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a large fight at  the William S. James Elementary School in Abingdon.

It happened Wednesday at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found an adult male lying on the ground behind the school bleeding from the head and complaining of back pain. He was treated at the scene by members of the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department and transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

A second juvenile victim was located a short distance away with facial injuries and was treated at the scene by the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. He was then transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Later in the evening deputies were called to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in reference to two subjects who had been injured in the above incident. One juvenile was being treated for facial injuries and the other for a small cuts on his left leg.

The investigation has revealed several subjects gathered at the school to settle a previous dispute that occurred on Tuesday. It was agreed that they would all meet at the school to fight. When the second group arrived at the school, they exited their car and began to assault the first group with baseball bats and golf clubs. At least four individuals involved in the dispute were injured.

At this time the injuries to all four individuals are not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Harford County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5014.
