Another delay in the trial of Brandon Grimes. Grimes is charged with killing a Baltimore detective in 2007.
Gigi Barnett reports this is the ninth postponement.
Family members of both Brandon Grimes and Baltimore Detective Troy Chesley walked out of the city courthouse confused and frustrated.
"It's been too long for this. It's been entirely too long for this," said Robert Howard, Chesley's uncle.
Brandon Grimes, 23, is accused of killing Baltimore City Detective Troy Chesley back in January 2007.
Prosecutors say Chesley was gunned down during a botched robbery.
Grimes was arrested and charged shortly afterward. But now, his defense attorney, Roland Walker, says he's ready for trial.
But the city doesn't have enough courtrooms or judges to accommodate a two-week trial.
"Nine times. To build up to this and be told again no judge available. It's very difficult for a young kid," said Walker.
Walker says this is the ninth postponement and they've taken a toll on Grimes' family, too.
"Something is wrong, you can't get a judge. And you can't find a judge to try one man," said James McCall, Grimes' grandfather.
Detective Chesley's family feels the same.
"This is about the fifth or the eighth time they've postponed this, it's unreal," said Howard.
Right now, both sides say there's one solution.
"I guess the simple answer is more judges," said Walker.
Grimes' trial has now been re-scheduled for Monday.
