Blue Angels Fly For Naval Graduation Week

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) ― The threat of rain couldn't keep one of the highlights of Naval Graduation Week in Annapolis out of the air.

Mike Schuh reports the Blue Angels jets streaked over the Naval Academy.

The Blue Angels know how to make an entrance.  For as long as there's been a Blue Angels team, they've been invited to fill the stands at the Naval Academy's graduation week.

This year, the team will do 69 shows in 35 cities, but they'll tell you this is one of their most important.

"It's a great experience.  Better than being on a boat," said Tom Horeff.

Academy grad and team flight surgeon Mark Lambert says they love to come to Annapolis.

"It's special.  It's enjoyable," he said.

The next opportunity to see that jet demonstration team in our area is in September when they fly at an air show in Virginia.
