Snow Blamed For Traffic Accident In Western Md.

MCHENRY, Md. (AP) ― State police say at least four vehicles slid off a country road in western Maryland during a winter storm that continues to drop snow in the mountainous region.

Cpl. D. Frank says no one was hurt in the mishap east of Cumberland around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Further west in McHenry, state police report about 5 inches of snow on the ground and more coming down.

The National Weather Service says a winter storm warning remains in effect for Garrett and extreme western Allegany counties, with total accumulations of 6 to 12 inches in the highest elevations.
