A 15-year-old Glen Burnie boy is charged as an adult with the baseball bat murder of a 49-year-old man.
Richard Sher reports the boy's mother Brandy claims her son Christian Schellenschlager got into an argument with a man on the street, whom she says threatened to murder her son.
"He swung at my son, not at his friends. He told me he thought the man had a knife. My son went home, came back with a baseball bat and hit him," said Brandy.
"The victim, 49-year-old Brian Michael Myers, was conscious when police got to him and was taken to Shock Trauma, where he eventually died from his injuries," said Anne Arundel Police Sgt. John Gilmer.
Schellenschlager was identified as the suspect and was arrested last Friday and charged with first-degree murder.
"It was not his intention to kill the man. He only hit him one time," said Brandy.
The attack occurred April 29. The victim died May 14.
Schellenschlager is being held without bail.
Both he and the victim have police records.
