Obama Lines Up More Md. Superdelegates

COLLEGE PARK, Md (AP) ― Four Maryland superdelegates officially announced Monday their support for Barack Obama in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, including two who previously had not said whom they were supporting.

Michael Cryor, the state's Democratic Party chairman, and Lauren Glover, first vice chairwoman of the state party, announced their support for the Illinois senator.

Two other Maryland superdelegates who had already indicated their support for Obama also attended the news conference in College Park: former Gov. Parris Glendening and Karren Pope-Onwukwe.

Maryland has a total of 27 superdelegates -- party and elected officials who automatically attend the party's convention and are free to support whomever they choose.

The party chose two add-on delegates Saturday: Glendening and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, who is backing Hillary Clinton.
