Many Baltimore Ministers Support Barack Obama
BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama won the support of hundreds of Baltimore area ministers.
Political reporter Pat Warren has more on how the campaign is gaining momentum in Maryland.
It's a call to action from the Baptist Ministers Conference and religious organizations who reportedly represent 200,000 Marylanders.
Obama is on the stump with Oprah Winfrey through New Hampshire, South Carolina and Iowa.
"I'm here to tell you, Iowa, he is the one," she said.
There are plenty saying the same in Maryland.
Hillary Clinton is endorsed by Governor O'Malley, who is also her Maryland campaign chairman, but Obama supporters expect him to win.
Maryland's primary election is Feb. 12.
Both Obama and Clinton campaigned in Maryland for Democrats Martin O'Malley and Ben Cardin last year.
