One man is dead, a second is behind bars and a third is still on the loose following a brazen bank robbery in Howard County.
Mary Bubala reports the FBI is now taking over the investigation, but they believe the man they're searching for may have fled the area.
It played out like a scene from a movie, but for customers inside a Bank of America branch on Ten Oaks Road in Clarksville, it was all too real.
Police say just after 9 a.m. Thursday, the men entered the bank with one mission in mind: robbery.
One bank employee was shot before the three made their getaway.
But a person inside the bank was able to follow the trio and gave police a description of the pickup truck they were driving.
With that, police and the suspects began a wild chase that wound through Howard and Anne Arundel Counties before coming to an end in Montgomery County.
One suspect was killed in a shoot-out with police, and another was later questioned and taken into custody in Montgomery County.
Seven hours later, police called off the search for the third suspect who managed to get away.
Anyone with any information that might lead officers to the suspect is asked to contact police. Neighbors are also being warned to be watchful of anything suspicious.
Police have not released the identities of the suspects.
