In December, a young woman was stabbed while she waited in line at a Catonsville convenience store.
Jessica Kartalija reports students from the school where she worked held a peace walk in in her memory.
Signs with a message and students on a mission for peace.
"In loving memory of my sister, Aysha," said her brother Zach.
Aysha Ring, 24, was murdered, her neck and wrist were slashed while she waited in line at a Baltimore County convenience store.
"I'm here to get the message across that we want peace. We're tired of the violence. We want peace in our city," said James Townes.
The peace walk started in Patterson Park and headed west on Eastern Avenue.
"We loved her. We miss her a lot. This is for her," said Diana Morel. "There are a lot of things going on with crime rates going up and kids doing crazy things and it's a good idea to get out here and march for peace."
The suspect, 23-year-old David Briggs, was found sitting along I-70. Pennsylvania police took him to a homeless shelter. He's been charged with first degree murder.
At this point, police still aren't sure what led Briggs to murder Aysha Ring. He didn't take cash and wasn't affiliated with a gang.
"We're doing as much as we can. Nothing will ever bring her back or bring anyone that we've lost back, but at least we can help stop it from happening again," Zach Ring said.
Briggs' father said his son had been depressed and disoriented after the deaths of his grandfather and best friend.
Ring worked at the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
