16 Apply For Arundel Judge's Post
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ―
The Judicial Nominating Commission for Anne Arundel County will conduct an interviewing marathon session to talk with 16 applicants for a judgeship.
The panel will also review recommendations on Thursday. The commission will then send a list of at least three names to Gov. Martin O'Malley.
Whoever is appointed will then have to win election in 2010 to keep the job.
Circuit Court judges are appointed by the governor, but then run for a 15-year-term.
The vacancy on came in July when Judge Michael E. Loney retired.
