An Arnold woman has been indicted in Garrett County for the death of her newborn son.

State's Attorney Lisa Thayer Welch said Thursday that Jamie Lynn Hiemenz, 27, is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, first-degree child abuse and reckless endangerment. She was released after posting a $50,000 bond.

Hiemenz couldn't be reached for comment and her attorney didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Welch says Hiemenz showed up at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland on Sept. 19, carrying a baby boy she claimed to have miscarried. Welch says the child was born earlier that day.
