Winter Storm Hits Maryland, Part 3

A husband and wife have been arrested and charged in connection with multiple burglaries in Carroll County.
The investigator tells Suzanne Collins only a few of the belongings have been recovered.
Some currency was issued by the Japanese when they occupied the Philippine Islands in World War II.
State police are trying to reunite these unusual bills with their owner. They were recovered when police arrested a couple for at least 21 burglaries in towns all over Carroll County. They say Jerome Herron has admitted he did commit the breakins and his wife Tina Herron faces charges too.
"He would usually go to a cul-de-sac or more rural area. Just sit sometimes for hours and watch. If it looked like no one was home, he would finally go up and just start knocking on the door," said Tony Dubas, investigator.
Police say Jerome Herron admitted most of his burglaries were easy, because the door was left unlocked, but if they were not unlocked he told them he'd break a window or force a sliding glass door.
Police say the goods taken include electronic devices, video games, guns and jewelry, but more often cash, coins and especially, prescription drugs. They are now reviewing all burglaries in the area since last fall.
"They come up on our roof, cut our window screen opened our window up, stole a couple hundred dollars from me, stole my wife's pain meds for her back," said Ed Inglehart, burglary victim.
The Herrons upstairs neighbor was burglarized and Westminster police say they did question the Herrons, but no charges have yet been placed. The victim says he caught Tina Herron up on the roof looking in his window, however, she claimed she was sun tanning. In another case in which the Jerome Herron has been charged, an 84-year-old woman was confronted inside her home.
"The witness did see, they were able to identify a red and white pickup truck and they actually saw the male suspect in this case at the house and fleeing from the scene," said Dubas.
Jerome Herron was arrested in early July, when he was at the scene of another burglary. It all began to all add up for state police, the couples crime spree went far and wide.
Police say the couple told them they burglarized homes to support a heroin habit.
Tina is being held at the Carroll County Detention Center on $7,500 bond
