Panel Picks New Nominee In Annapolis Mayor's Race
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ―
The Annapolis Democratic Central Committee has chosen County Councilman Josh Cohen to be the party's new nominee in the city's mayoral race.
The committee made its selection Friday night.
The committee had to chose a new nominee to replace Zina Pierre, who won the primary last week but withdrew on Wednesday after various personal financial concerns became public just days after the primary.
Cohen finished second in the primary.
Republican Alderman David Cordle and independent Chris Fox, a local bar owner, also are in the race.
The election is scheduled for Nov. 3.
