Voters Await Monday's Provisional Ballot Count

Mike Hellgren reports the Associated Press announced Friday that Democrat Frank Kratovil defeated Republican Andy Harris to win the seat that has been held by the GOP for 18 years.
Eyewitness News spoke to Kratovil after the announcement.
"I am honored and humbled by the support I've received in this election and am clearly encouraged by where the numbers stand and the subsequent Associated Press announcement. Right now my top priority is making sure that every vote is counted and every voice is heard, and there will be plenty of time for celebration afterwards. In the meantime, I'll continue to make the necessary preparations to ensure for a smooth and seamless transition once all of the votes are counted and the outcome is official."
Likewise, Andy Harris' campaign is just as reserved.
Harris' campaign manager Chris Meekins told
Eyewitness News, "We don't feel it would be appropriate for us to concede at this point. Ten thousand ballots are still outstanding including military, provisional and absentee. We plan to wait to see the trends of those ballots before Andy makes an official statement to the press."
What can be interpreted from the two candidates' current stance is despite their political differences, at least for now, Andy Harris and Frank Kratovil agree on one thing. The Associated Press report aside, they don't feel there's a clear winner.
The AP is basing their decision on the latest trend, which at this time favors Kratovil.
Harris says he may hold a news conference on Monday.
