Small Plane Skids Off Runway At BWI

LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) ―

A spokeswoman at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport says no one was injured when a small plane skidded off a runway during takeoff.

Spokeswoman Cheryl Stewart says that Cessna 441 was departing from a general aviation runway when it skidded into a grassy area about 12:35 p.m. Wednesday. She says four people were on the plane.

Fire and rescue crews responded, but Stewart says there was no fire.

Stewart says the incident is not disrupting commercial passenger service at the airport.

She says the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are looking into the incident.
