Susquehanna Bancshares OKs Consolidation

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) ―

Susquehanna Bancshares has approved the consolidation of its three banking subsidiaries, which includes Susquehanna Bank Hagerstown, into one subsidiary.

Susquehanna Bancshares spokesman Stephen Trapnell says the move will improve customer service and save money.

He added that about 70 of the company's 3,400 workers will lose their jobs because of the consolidation, including two people in Washington County.

The consolidate is projected to be completed early next month.
