Police have charged a man in the slaying of a woman during a robbery at a store in Northwest D.C.
Andres Lopez, 45, was arrested Thursday afternoon. He is charged with felony murder while armed in the killing of Rufina Hernandez, 51, of Hyattsville, Md.
Hernandez was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the face and neck on Nov. 7 at her store, La Casa De Morata.
Police say two suspects, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun, robbed the business establishment at gunpoint. After getting money, one of the suspects shot the storeowner.
