First Silver Alert Ends After Elderly Man Found

BALTIMORE (AP) ― Maryland State Police have canceled the state's first Silver Alert for a missing vulnerable adult after the man was found in Baltimore.

Monday's alert for Arthur Mulkey of Linthicum ended Tuesday morning after he was found in Baltimore. Police say Mulkey, 84, was found near the corner of South Haven Street and Eastern Avenue.

Howard County authorities issued the alert when his family contacted police to report him missing. He was seen driving his red truck Sunday on Interstate 70 near the border of Frederick and Howard Counties. Mulkey and his son were returning from a hunting trip near Cumberland when his son realized he didn't get home.

The Silver Alert system began Oct. 1 and this alert was the state's first after a new method to find missing vulnerable adults began.
