Baltimore Woman Pleads Guilty In Murder Plot

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

A Baltimore woman has pleaded guilty in the killing of a man whose body was found in the trunk of a burning car.

Tracy Asbury pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

She was one of three people charged in the June 19 death of 36-year-old Phillip Airey.

Her sentencing date has not been set.

Baltimore prosecutors say Asbury met Airey at a bar, then lured him to a home on Pennington Avenue. That's where Robert Speake and Michael Martin allegedly beat and stabbed Airey.

Asbury then drove the body to the Baltimore Washington Parkway and set the car on fire.

Speake pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder and other charges. Martin is awaiting trial.
