Parkton Dedicates New Fire Station

PARKTON, Md. (WJZ) ― Baltimore County Fire Department dedicates a new Parkton Fire Station.

The new Parkton Fire Station is located on the 18000-block of Middletown Road.

The new Station #60 replaces the old Station #60 on the 800-block of Stablers Church Road. The facility was just a trailer and garage.

The old fire station was a temporary solution to the problem of how to begin meeting the needs of a growing rural community that historically had depended on the volunteer fire service.

The new $5.5 million station is a state-of-the-art facility that will increase fire suppression services to residents in the rural and the northern part of the county.

The residents of rural northern Baltimore County historically have depended on the volunteer fire service in an emergency.

Parkton is the only career fire station in the rural, northern portion of Baltimore County.
