Worldwide outrage is building over the possible release of the Pan Am Flight 103 bomber.
Kai Jackson reports that among those voices is a Severna Park woman whose daughter died on that plane.
Abdel Baset Ali al-Megrahi was convicted of bombing Pan Am Flight 103 which exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1988.
"I deal with it better, but there is an additional kind of pain," said Rosemary Mild, the mother of a victim.
Al-Megrahi, who is dying of cancer, has asked the Scottish court to set him free in his final days. That has American relatives of victims furious.
"What kind of compassion did he give the 270 innocent victims whom he murdered with that bomb?" she asked.
There were 259 people killed on board the plane and 11 on the ground perished.
Miriam Luby Wolf, 21, was among those on the plane. Her mother Rosemary lives in Severna Park.
"Everybody she came in contact with, they were better people after they met her," her mother said.
Some, skeptical that Al-Megrahi was the bomber, believe he should be released. Al-Megrahi insists he's innocent.
"It's a very unfortunate position for me to be in, to be making life even harder for those relatives in the United States. I don't like having to do that but I am determined to get to the truth", said Dr. Jim Swire, a Lockerbie campaigner.
"The investigation was done meticulously for years with the cooperation of the Scottish police, Interpol, the FBI, the CIA, and it was rock solid evidence," Mild said.
Mild says she and family members continue to fight for justice for the Pan Am bombing victims.
Poetry her daughter wrote days before her death sustains Rosemary.
"She was sitting on a hillside overlooking Kidwelly Castle in Wales and she wrote, 'The sky was bluer today, the sun was yellower today, and the whole of the earth seemed to be rejoicing in its own perfection.'"
The Scottish government says it has yet to decide on Al-Megrahi's motion for an early release. They are considering a motion to allow him to serve out his sentence in his native Libya.
