MTA To Restore Light Rail To Hunt Valley On Sunday

BALTIMORE (AP) ― The Maryland Transit Administration says it will restore light rail service between North Avenue and Hunt Valley on Sunday.

However, the agency says some cars will remain out of service for wheel maintenance so some trains will operate with just a single car.

The MTA says employees have worked overtime during the past week to design and test a modification to the train control system that improves the ability of rail cars to stop safely without damaging the wheels.

Hard braking triggered by slippery leaves on the rails is being blamed for the recent wheel damage.

Penn Station-Camden Station shuttle trains will remain out of service. Shuttle buses will operate between Penn Station and the Mt. Royal/University of Baltimore stop.
