Officials say two teenage boys are dead after they were found laying on light rail tracks near the Lutherville station.
Weijia Jiang reports investigators are trying to figure out how the accident happened.
"It was a fare inspector that just happened to be looking out of the window and saw two bodies laying in the southbound track," says Jawauna Greene, the MTA's spokesperson.
Maryland transit officials spent Sunday afternoon inspecting the undercarriages of trains, looking for any evidence of a collision, as the injured teenager was flown to Shock Trauma, where he later died.
How the teens ended up in the situation is a puzzling question.
"We are fairly confident they are not passengers, we're just not sure what circumstances lead to them being on the track," adds Greene.
There is limited visibility in this area because of turns in the track, but that still doesn't explain why the teens wouldn't have heard the light rail coming.
The MTA is asking passengers that may have been aboard a light rail train in that area this afternoon, to call 410-454-7720, if they saw anything unusual.
