Jarrel Gray was tasered twice and later died.
The family of a Frederick man who died after being subdued with a Taser announced Thursday it is suing Frederick County and the county sheriff's office.
Mike Hellgren reports it also names Sheriff Chuck Jenkins and Cpl. Rudy Torres as defendants in the $145 million lawsuit.
The lawsuit alleges violation of civil rights, wrongful death and excessive force in the death of Jarrel Gray who died after a Taser was used on him.
The NAACP also asks Congressmen Elijah Cummings and Ben Cardin to look into the matter.
Jarrel's father Jeffrey said he court Thursday "he would never be the same" and he wants justice in this case.
A grand jury ruled this month that Torres was justified in using his Taser to subdue 20-year-old Jarrel Gray after Gray did not obey commands to show his hands during a fight last November.
Gray was shocked twice and died three hours later.
The state medical examiner's office ruled the case a sudden death associated with restraint and alcohol intoxication.
The lawsuit was filed by Gray's parents, Jeffrey Gray and Tanya Thomas, both of Frederick.
