The Harford County school board has named an interim superintendent to succeed Jacqueline Haas, who died suddenly last week.
Patricia Skebeck will serve in the position until July 1. She is the current director of elementary education for the school system.
Meanwhile, the school system has scheduled a Celebration of Life ceremony to honor Haas at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Aberdeen High School.
The Haas family held a memorial Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
Haas served as superintendent for more than 10 years. She died Tuesday after suffering an asthma attack at her home in Aberdeen.
