Howard County Teen Dies In Virginia

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) ― A Virginia Military Institute freshman from Howard County has died after completing a 10-mile road march with members of his freshmen class.

VMI officials said John Alexander Evans, 19, of Highland, Md., collapsed in his barracks room after completing the training march with other members of his class Saturday.

He was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

The medical examiner is performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
