High flood waters in Baltimore City caused some commuters to take another way in to work Thursday morning.
Ron Matz reports there were lots of problems on Patapsco Road in Baltimore City.
Heavy rain in the morning caused a lot of backups on the roadways. Heavy rains turned part of Patapsco Avenue into a lake. Unfortunately, it has happened here before.
"I was just coming to work and it was flooded out as usual," said one commuter.
Baltimore City Police blocked off the road, between Potee Street and Annapolis Road.
"I thought it was an accident. First thing I said was 'I hope no one got hurt'" said another commuter.
No one was hurt, but one motorist had to be rescued as he attempted to drive through the high waters.
"What we urge is for motorist to avoid areas of standing water, typically, driving through standing water. A vehicle can become disabled rendering that motorist unable to get out of the vehicle." said Kevin Cartwright,
Baltimore City Fire spokesperson.
City Police detoured motorist around the closed roads.
"I have to find another way to get to work. I am heading all the way to Washington Boulevard and sometimes when I go that way, I get lost," said one driver.
Patapsco Road has been reopened to traffic.
