D.C. Planning More Bicycle Lanes
WASHINGTON (AP) ―
More bicycle lanes are planned for eco-friendly District commuters.
The District Department of Transportation says new bike lanes are planned for downtown and the Golden Triangle to maintain traffic flow and better protect bicycle riders.
The plans were developed after studying projects in New York and Montreal that were undertaken to accommodate growing numbers of bicycle riders.
Department officials say the plans will be unveiled at a 6 p.m. public meeting March 18 at the Heritage Center at the United States Navy Memorial.
