Police in Cumberland say an Allegany County correctional officer has been suspended and accused of tipping off a suspect in a sex-offense investigation.
Thirty-four-year-old Connie McDonald of Cumberland, was charged Thursday with two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of harboring a fugitive.
Investigators say she interfered with an investigation that led to the arrest on Tuesday of 47-year-old Michael Apple for allegedly abusing a 14-year-old girl.
Police say McDonald passed sensitive information to Apple and was at his home when he was arrested.
The Associated Press couldn't reach McDonald for comment because she has no local telephone listing.
