Winter Storm Hits Maryland, Part 3

Three suspects are in custody, accused of a robbery spree that may have led to the death of a Canton businessman.
Adam May has more on the federal investigation.
The summer death of Constantine Frank, who suffered severe head injuries when he was beaten, tied up and duct-taped inside his Canton vending business, has now been linked to a well-organized robbery spree.
Maryland's U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein says the three suspects are Daniel Chase of New Jersey, Antwone Bell from Rosedale and Nikolaos Mamalis from Edgewood.
They were arrested a week ago in Atlantic City following a wiretap where investigators say they heard the group planning another robbery.
In Chase's car, investigators found mace, rope, handcuffs, tape, a loaded gun, a knife and a fake investigator's I.D.
"They were found to be in possession of a false I.D. representing that one of them was an investigator for the state of New Jersey's Attorney General, that is alleged as a mode of operation, that was used to gain entrance into the house and confidence of the victims," Rosenstein said.
In addition to the July robbery of $10,000 in Canton, the three are also accused of stealing $244,000 from a Pikesville home and $60,000 from a home in Cockeysville.
WJZ discoveredĀ a $10,000 unpaid judgment against Mamalis suggesting a history of financial problems. A relative of Frank's tells WJZ they knew Mamalis and considered him a friend.
When asked why murder charges have yet to be filed Rosenstein said, "There may be additional charges that address other robberies in the context of the conspiracy and also additional charges for the crimes for any injuries or deaths that resulted."
All three suspects will be in court for a detention hearing Thursday morning.
