A 16-year-old boy from Rosedale is charged as an adult with sexually abusing two young children in his mother's care.
Suzanne Collins reports one of the victims came forth and told his mother what happened.
The abuse victims are a 6-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.
Police say both of them were raped at a home daycare.
In a handsome Rosedale home police say there was a horrible crime going on the attic bedroom.
Robert Poellot, 16, is charged as an adult with forcing himself on two young children his mother had agreed to watch.
"It appears it was going on three months. The mother told us three months ago she started noticing changes in the children's bodies which at the time did not make her suspicious, sores, chafing, and only when the boy came forward did she realize something was wrong," said Bill Toohey, a Baltimore County Police spokesman.
The mother of the two victims says she met the mother of the 16-year-old suspect at church and she's been taking her children to that home for about a year.
A man who lives in Rosedale with three daughters finds the story tragic.
"I'm sure they'll be scarred for life, hopefully they'll come out of it," said Brian Sinclitico.
He went on to say he believes the boy should have been charged as an adult.
In court papers it says the 6-year-old told investigators in child's words that she was forced to have intercourse, and that it happened during a game that she and her brother play with Robbie.
The 8-year-old boy explained he was once shown a pornographic video on Robbie's computer.
A minister says it's sad for all the juveniles involved.
"Sometimes our emotions will get the best of us in a carnal state, so it's just a tough situation. I know if it was my children I probably would be devastated," said Henry Hunt, a local minister.
Police say if the 16-year-old had been charged as a juvenile he would be released in five years, but as an adult they expect more prison time.
The young offender has been released from The Baltimore County Detention Center on home monitoring.
