Dancer Names Female Gang Member In Shooting

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― A known female member of the Bloods gang remains behind bars for attempting to kill an 18-year-old.

Police say both women spent a lot of time at a Baltimore gentlemen's club.

Weijia Jiang reports people who work nearby say the recent shooting is keeping some customers away.

At the Two O'Clock Club on Baltimore Street, a sign hangs in the door that says, "Dancers Wanted. Must Be 18."

Police say one of the club's dancers, 18-year-old Ashley Davis, is recovering at Sinai Hospital after one of the club's frequent customers shot her.

They say the two left the club together just moments before the Wednesday morning shooting.

Vince Tolson bartends at the Lust Club next door.

"It's a hard business, but honestly she's probably 18-years-old trying to make something for herself, trying to get ahead. It's a hard world out here. It's very hard," said Tolson.

Even though police tell WJZ the women left together from the Two O'Clock Club, they aren't saying much about how or why they know each other.

"We know they had a relationship. There's no indication at this time to represent that this is a gang-related incident," said Cpl. Mike Hill with Baltimore County Police.

Police say the women drove together to Robert E. Lee Park. There police found a large pool of blood.

A 38-caliber automatic gun and a 38-cartridge casing were also used in the shooting.

It's pretty unbelievable, but police say Davis stumbled a mile through the park after she was shot. She collapsed at a nearby convenience store.

According to charging documents, the officer on the scene asked the victim who shot her, but she could not speak.

That officer then asked her to write it down and she wrote, "Juelz. She's a Blood. She's usually on Baltimore Street."

In fact, police found and arrested Juelz back at the Two O'Clock Club Wednesday evening.

Still, Tolson says the incident does not have anything to do with the clubs.

"A lot of people give the block a bad name, but we don't ever experience these types of problems," said Tolson.

Police say "Juelz" is a suspect in two Baltimore City shootings and a key witness in the murder case of a fellow Bloods gang member.

At this time, police do not believe the victim is affiliated with any gangs.
