Cleanup Continues After Hanna
BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―
Hannah made her presence known in Baltimore. The storm dumped rain on the area, flooding streets and causing problems for those trying to get around during the downpour.
Weijia Jiang reports four to eight inches fell within our section near downtown Baltimore, Annapolis and certainly the Eastern Shore.
The slick streets caused by the storm are being blamed for a serious crash along the topside of the Beltway. A car flipped onto its side while traveling on the outer loop near the York Road exit. The crash forced traffic to divert off the interstate.
Looking to avoid any accidents, the MdTA placed wind restrictions on the Bay Bridge for several hours while Hanna's whipping winds pounded the region. That restriction has since been lifted and traffic is once again moving across the Bay Bridge.
Hannah may be gone, but she's keeping BGE crews across the state busy. The powerful tropical storm knocked out power for almost 60,000 customers in Maryland. The crews worked through the night and now just over 7,000 are still in the dark. About 3,000 of those customers are in Baltimore County.
