CBS News Interactive: 2007 Storm Tracker

MIAMI (AP) ― Subtropical Storm Olga formed over the Virgin Islands on Monday, 10 days after the Atlantic hurricane season ended, forecasters said.

Olga formed shortly before 9 p.m. EST, the National Hurricane Center said.

At 5 p.m. the system was centered about 130 miles east of Puerto Rico. It was expected to continue moving west or southwest at about 15 to 20 mph. But conditions were expected to become gradually less favorable for development over the next few days.

The Atlantic hurricane season ended Nov. 30 after 14 named storms, including six hurricanes.
